Reptile Rescue Program

The South Florida Herpetological Society will assist in finding homes for unwanted pet reptiles whenever resources permit.

Rescued reptiles will be placed in foster care and made available for adoption to qualified homes when appropriate.

Due to limitations in foster housing, we will not be able to take in all reptiles.

We will review each rescue request on a case by case basis.

SFHS will not take in green iguanas or aquatic turtles such as red or yellow sliders.

As an all volunteer organization, we do not have the resources to take in and care for sick or injured reptiles.

If you find a sick or injured reptile in the wild, please contact your local animal control or veterinary clinic for assistance.

We do not take in sick or injured animals.

If your pet reptile or amphibian needs a new home, please use the form below.

Adoptions

South Florida Herpetological Society may have rescued animals available for adoption to qualified homes.

Available adoptions are posted on our Facebook page.

An adoption fee will be collected to cover some of our costs for any medical treatment, feeding and other expenses.

All adoptions require current SFHS membership and the completion of an adoption application.

Please note that you will need to transport or pick up your reptile in the West Palm Beach area.
